Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to the hotel/lodge

Following your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, your assigned driver/guide will be ready  to welcome to Uganda. After a friendly exchange of greetings, he/she will transfer you to your hotel or lodge in or around Entebbe town.

Day 2: Rhino tracking at Ziwa and travel to Murchison Falls National Park

At 08:00 AM, you will begin a scenic six-hour drive to Murchison Falls National Park, located in northern Uganda. Along the way, you’ll make a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary (Nakasongola) for an exciting walking safari. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to track endangered white rhinos on foot—an unforgettable experience lasting one to two hours.

After rhino tracking, you’ll continue your journey to the park, arriving in time to settle in and prepare for the next day’s adventures.

Day 3: Morning game drive and Afternoon boat trip on River Nile

Following an early morning breakfast, you will begin the day with a game drive inside the park. During the drive, you’ll have the chance to see a variety of wildlife, including buffaloes, elephants, waterbucks, kobs, and giraffes. If you’re lucky, you may even spot lions.

In the afternoon, you’ll embark on a 3-hour shared boat trip along the Nile River to the base of Murchison Falls. As you cruise, you’ll observe many water-adapted animals, such as hippos and crocodiles, as well as numerous bird species.

Day 4: Travel to Kibale National Park

After breakfast, you will begin the approximately 7-hour road journey to Kibale National Park in western Uganda. Along the way, you’ll take in breathtaking views of diverse landscapes and the scenic countryside.

Upon arrival, you will check in at your accommodation to unwind and settle in for an overnight stay.

Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest and travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Your day will begin with a trek through Kibale Forest’s lush greenery in search of chimpanzees. These remarkable primates are humanity’s closest relatives, sharing 98.7% of our DNA. Kibale is home to a large population of chimpanzees, with several habituated families that can be tracked twice a day.

Besides chimps, the forest teems with other primates, including colobus monkeys, Ugandan mangabey, and Vervet monkeys, as well as a variety of bird species—all of which you may encounter during your tracking expedition.

After chimpanzee tracking, you will travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 6: Morning game drive and afternoon boat ride on Kazinga channel

After an early breakfast, you’ll begin your wildlife adventure with a game drive through Kasenyi Plains in Queen Elizabeth National Park. This prime safari area offers excellent opportunities to spot diverse wildlife including elephants, buffalo herds, antelopes, lions, warthogs, and even hippos in their natural habitat.

In the afternoon, you will enjoy a scheduled boat cruise for 3 hours along the famous Kazinga Channel. This scenic boat ride offers excellent opportunities to observe water-adapted wildlife, including hippos, crocodiles, and numerous bird species.

Day 7: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Following a relaxed breakfast, you’ll commence the approximately 4-hour scenic journey southwest to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to Uganda’s famous mountain gorillas.

Day 8: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Forest

After an early breakfast, you’ll take a short 5-15 minute drive to the briefing center where rangers will explain trekking procedures and safety guidelines.

From the orientation, your adventure begins as you hike through Bwindi’s lush, steep terrain in search of a mountain gorilla family.

When you meet the gentle giants, you will spend an hour with them and the experience concludes with a return trek through the forest back to your lodge, where you can relax and reflect on this unforgettable encounter during your overnight stay.

Day 9: Travel to Lake Mburo National Park

Today’s adventure takes you to Lake Mburo National Park. Despite being Uganda’s smallest savanna park, Lake Mburo offers exceptional wildlife viewing opportunities, particularly known for its diverse antelope populations and zebras. The park shelters an impressive array of animals including buffalo herds, recently introduced giraffes, hippos, and multiple antelope species such as topis, impalas, waterbucks, and elands.

Upon arrival, you’ll embark on an exciting game drive through the park’s varied landscapes to creatures observe these magnificent in their natural habitat.

Day 10: Travel to Entebbe airport for departure flight

This day concludes your 10-day wildlife and primates safaris, as we transfer you to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight. During the journey, you’ll have one last opportunity to enjoy Uganda’s breathtaking countryside scenery and diverse landscapes – a perfect farewell to this remarkable adventure.
