Later you will continue to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest where you will trek the gentle giants the Mountain gorillas and then you will be transfered to Entebbe or you can opt to fly to Entebbe International Airport at an extra fees.

detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe international Airport.

 On arrival at Entebbe international Airport, you are welcomed and received by our guide/driver who transfers you to the booked hotel in either Entebbe or Kampala for overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest national park.

Kibale national Park holds the highest diversity and density of primates in Africa. The most famous of its 13 species is the chimpanzee-Man’s closest relative. Approximately, 5000 chimpanzees live in the wild in Uganda and Kibale boasts of about 1500 chimpanzees which makes it a perfect place to spot them. The forest is also home to East Africa’s largest population of the threatened Red Colobus and the rare L’Hoest’s Monkey. Other primates include the Mantled Guereza, Red-tailed and Blue monkeys, Grey-Cheeked Mangabey, Olive Baboon, Bush baby and Potto.

The park boosts of more than 375 species of birds which include Green-breasted pitta, White-naped pigeon, crowned Eagle and many others.

After breakfast, the guide picks you from the hotel to start the journey to Kibale forest national park. The drive is through Uganda’s countryside with lots of agricultural lands filled with various tea estates, homesteads, road side fruit and vegetable markets and forests. These are fascinating sights which give you the understanding of the living lifestyles of the local communities you pass through.

Have enroute lunch in Fort portal towna town with spectacular and scenic landscapes. From here, proceed to your booked hotel/ lodge ready for chimpanzee trekking the next day.

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale forest national park.

On this day after breakfast, the guide transfers you to the briefing point for the chimp tracking, here the rangers take you through a briefing on what to expect and how to conduct yourself in the forest.

After the short briefing, the tracking activity starts through the tropical forest for the memorable and rewarding experience in search of man’s closest relatives Chimpanzees. When chimps are tracked, a maximum of about one hour is allowed to stay in their vicinity after which you walk out of the forest.

In the afternoon you can have a relaxed afternoon or ask your guide to guide you through the optional activities in the region.

Day 4:  Queen Elizabeth National Park.

You will be transfered to Queen Elizabeth National park, Uganda’s second largest National park. It has diverse ecosystems, which include sprawling savanna, forests, lakes and fertile wetlands, making it the ideal habitat for classic big game and over 600 species of birds.

Set against the backdrop of the jagged Rwenzori Mountains, the park’s magnificent vistas include dozens of enormous craters carved dramatically into rolling green hills, panoramic views of the Kazinga Channel with its banks lined with Hippos, Buffalo and Elephants. The afternoon of your arrival you will do a boat cruise to get chance of seeing big game that comes along the channel to quench off the thirst.

Day 5: Morning Game drive ( CARNIVORE TRACKING) and transfer to Bwindi Forest

Early morning, go for a game drive in search of wild animals. During this drive, you may encounter so many different species of wildlife which include elephants, Lions, Leopards, Buffaloes, Waterbucks, Warthogs, and Uganda Kobs among others. later when done with the morning game drive you will proceed to Bwindi forest the home to half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 6:  Gorillas Trekking

This ultimate safari experience in the ‘jungles of Africa’, allows you spend the day with the gigantic gentle creatures  the mountain gorillas. The adventure hiking through Bwindi impenetrable forest in search of gorillas is a unique experience.

At the briefing point, the site rangers hold briefings on how the trekking and hiking exercises are to be undertaken. During this briefing, rules and regulations guiding the trekking activity are passed on. This trekking is conducted in various groups depending on the bookings. The trekking starts early in the morning when the gorillas are out looking for food.

Once you locate the gorillas with the ranger guide, you will observe them for an hour and later return to the starting point.

Day 7: Transfer back to Entebbe

The trip to gorilla and chimpanzee safari will come to an end on this day, the driver guide will transfer you back to Entebbe airport this will be a very long drive but beautiful to watch the country side. Alternatively you could opt to fly back to Entebbe there scheduled small flight that offer that service.
